FIESA Sand Sculptures 2014 Open between 25th may and 25th october 2014. FIESA is a mega exhibition of sand sculptures held since 2003 in Pêra, Algarve, that in each new edition is dedicated to a different theme. FIESA is considered the largest event of its kind in the world and unique in the Iberian Peninsula, as it uses forty thousand tons of sand, which are carved annually by fifty artists, national and international, covering a construction area of 15,000 m2, with sculptures that reach twelve feet tall. It can be visited day or night when the sculptures are illuminated by lights games. Music is the theme of the 11th edition of this Festival, which will feature in sand, scenes representative of its expression in various ethical groups, their evolution and various genres, ranging from rock, to traditional music and classical, dance or even the expression religious in the Music. FIESA also incorporates a playful dimension with a space for sand sculpture activities, where each day, adults, teens and children can experience and show their creative abilities in this form of artistic expression. Transport from Tavira, Montegordo, Olhão, Faro and Quinta do Lago only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Transport from Lagos and Praia da Luz only on Wednesdays and Fridays.
